Staying Solid

Would you want white walls

            -overwhelming emotion-

Closing out all sound?

            -hear the breath of the ocean-

Are they walls if they’re soft?

            -remember pillow fights-

Sit alone in the silence.

            -awake all night.-

You were deemed unfit

            -????????-

You didn’t make the cut.

            -those ones don’t count-

Nothing has colour

-squinting makes stuff blurry-

It’s stuck inside.

            -with eyes wide open.
